Italian with PDL

Our PDL courses are based on the Psychodramaturgie Linguistique (Language Psychodramaturgy); we will use techniques and principles from psychodrama, sciences of communication and self-expression.

How does a PDL class work?

We start each class with a relaxation activity: it will put the learner in a relaxed, receptive and concentrated condition to enjoy and learn the language in all its holistic aspects. Thanks to the relaxation, the learners become also more conscious of their personal interior talents; they will feel confident and secure in their new journey into the language.

Before a direct contact with the communicative activity, we will use poems which offer a first melodious, rhythmic and poetic contact with the language. We will implement various dynamic warming-up exercises prior to the main activity. They are meant to free the learners creative potential and the spontaneity to express themselves in new situations and to get over interpersonal and intercultural limits.

The main activity gives a precise structure to the spontaneous dialogue between the learners and is based on a sequence (technique based on Psychodrama and Dramaturgy) where the protagonist expresses him/herself several times on a personal subject, and the animatrice offers at each time a different parameter (i.e. different masks, roles, places, interlocutor, situation, text, etc.) so that his/her creativity and communicative capacity becomes deeper, more precise and confident.

Eventually there will be a reflection phase where the protagonists may talk about all their questions and problems or when the animatrice finds it necessary to explain a linguistic issue in order to facilitate the learners'communication and consolidation of learned elements.

In a PDL-class we also implement various exercises in order to get acquainted with the prosodic characteristics and the typical gestures of the target language. These are meant to improve pronunciation, to improve auditory memory and to get closer to the real language both in an active and in a passive way. The learner will lose from the very beginning the feeling of being a „stranger“ and will enjow the one of being fully immersed in the language.

A testimonial from a learner:

"I was a beginner when I first join. After 3 hours, I had the feeling I could travel through Italy without any fear".

Company-courses

On- or off-site, especially for the sector in question. The courses can be individual, semi-individual, or in small groups. The topics and the pedagogic method will be tailored to each specific company's requirements. For all our courses, we constantly assess the level of learning and the progress done by various tests and exams. TELC exams preparation

Telc examinations are also based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. There are three kinds of TELC exams:

1. Telc school tests: thay are aimed for pupils aged 12 years and older who wish to obtain more than a standard school certificate to certify their language level.

The subjects are chosen for their relevance to the pupils’ own lifestyles, making this exam amusing and stimulating.

2. Telc general language tests: they are aimed for adults who wish to attest their language competence for personal or professional reasons. The broad variety of topics handled in these exams respect the participants’ personal experiences in their daily and professional life.

3. Telc business tests: they are aimed for those who wish a certification of their language skills for business purposes. The topics deal with professional life, such as typical office situations, the hotel & restaurant area and the technical sector.

There are 4 levels of TELC-exams:

  • A1: for beginners after completing an average of 100-150 lessons
  • A2: for learners after completing an average of 250-300 lessons
  • B1: for learners with basic skills who can already communicate pretty well in daily situations
  • B2: for advanced learners who can clearly and explicitly express themselves
